The Port Polson Players, in association with Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, continues their 50th season with the musical masterpiece "Always ... Patsy Cline," which opens Friday, July 25, at the Theatre on the Lake.

Created and originally directed by Ted Swindley and based on a true story, the musical traces the career of the great country singer through letters she exchanged with a fan.

Missoula guest artist Chae Clearwood appears as the late artist, playing opposite Anna Loehrke as devoted fan Louise Seger. The five-member band includes Mission Valley musicians Cathy Gillhouse on keyboards, Kyle Stinger on acoustic guitar, Jeri Curi on percussion and fiddle, Ron Liljestrand on electric guitar, and Wally Congdon on bass.

The poignant musical features many Patsy Cline hits and only plays seven times at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25-Aug. 3.

Musical clearances are secured and used by permission; any taping, filming, recording or broadcast of this play (musical or otherwise) is strictly prohibited, as the production is licensed by the family and estate of Patsy Cline.
