No more parking behind Ronan Liquor Store
Janelle Campbell of the Ronan Liquor Store asked the Ronan City Council to abandon or change the wording of the City of Ronan easement behind the store during its meeting last Wednesday.
The council had previously abandoned the portion of the easement extending behind the Second Chance Saloon, and Campbell asked them to abandon the rest of it to prevent people from parking behind her store.
After discussion, council members unanimously approved Campbell’s request.
In other business, Julie Moore was re-appointed as council member on the Ronan Planning Board for a two-year term, retroactive to March 1, and continuing through Feb. 28, 2027.
The council also passed a motion to approve the final plat of the Anointed Home Subdivision.
The council discussed the facilities-use agreement between the softball associations and the City of Ronan. Changes were inserted into the document by city attorney Ben Anciaux, who agreed to email the document to council members and Ronan Pablo Youth Softball League and Mission Valley Thunder officials for signature.
Since not all of the emails were returned signed, Mayor Chris Adler will take a copy of the agreement around to softball members for signature.
Council members approved a 90-day open container permit and sidewalk closure permit with pedestrian access, for Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4-8 p.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day on Fourth Ave. in front of the Ronan Co-operative Brewery.
Also approved were open container permits for the Ronan Chamber of Commerce Brew Fest, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. June 21 at the Ronan Fairgrounds; and for the Ronan Co-operative Brewery, with a street closure on Fourth Ave. SW from 3-9 p.m. June 27.
The council also approved Ronan Lighthouse Church’s request to hold the Celebrate Ronan event in the City Park from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 25.
The next council meeting will be June 11 at 6 p.m.
