Our senators need to stand up for democracy
The No Kings rallies on June 14 made up the largest single-day protest in US history. In our mostly-red state, Montana had 29 protests, with thousands of participants. We’re so sparsely populated that we only have one phone prefix for the entire state and yet there was an enormous protest against the president of the U.S.
While many Montanans agree with traditional Republican platforms, we do not want an oligarchy. We do not want a dictatorship. We do not want public lands sold. We do not want VA benefits stripped. We do not want universities to have research funds taken away, especially for cancer research. We do not want our most educated scientists moving to other countries because they’ve been laid off here. We do not want the media squelched.
We do not want DOGE youngsters to have our social security data! They have no security clearance. After all the education we receive about means to protect our personal data, we’ve let these robbers into what should be the most secure database?
