Tribes lift ban on open debris burning

Fire officials with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Division of Fire announced they will lift the ban on debris/outdoor burning within the Flathead Reservation boundary as of Friday, June 20.

Those who already have a permit from earlier in the season don't need to apply for a new one. Those who need a permit can apply at cskt.org/division-of-fire/.

The Division of Fire stresses the importance of fire safety while burning, and urges people to check the weather and wind and have the proper equipment to complete the burn.
