Diane Cline-Johnson, 68

Diane Ruth Cline-Johnson, age 68, of Polson, died Sunday, June 22, at her home in Turtle Lake surrounded by family. She was born July 8, 1956, in Polson to Rose J. Dupuis Cline and Harry Cline.

Diane was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, graduated in 1975 (GED) and earned her bachelor’s degree of arts Aug. 13, 1997, from Evergreen State College. She worked for CSKT as Water Resource and Water Quality managers for 40 years and retired in 2013.

Diane had two children from two previous marriages, and she married her soulmate, Walter E. Johnson, on Jan. 20, 1990.

Diane was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Douglas V. Cline.

She is survived by her husband, Walter E. Johnson, and his family, daughter Tina (Brad) Forman of Polson, son Walt Jr. (Cindy) Johnson of Bath, S.D., son Robert (Jenn) Johnson of Spokane, Wash., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Dayle Cline; three brothers, David (Sandra) Cline, Don Cline (daughters Tisha Hutchison and Ashley Rose Cline) and Darryl Cline, all from Polson; her daughter, Brandi Marie (David) Clark, grandson Bryce E. Allred, and granddaughters Annabella Rose Allred and Taylor and Khloe Clark; her son, Michael P. Campbell, and granddaughter Montana Rose Campbell and grandson Makana A. Campbell; and many other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, and funeral service is at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, all at The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory in Polson. Burial will take place after the service at Lakeview Cemetery followed by a reception at the First Presbyterian Church.
