Move over Tom Cruise, get out of the way Julia Roberts. There are some new young stars taking on the glitz and glamour of the red carpet.

This past Friday the Showboat Stadium 6 on Main Street in Polson was packed with members of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County Boys and Girls Club for a special presentation of the newest Disney and Pixar flic, “Elio.”

More than 200 members arrived between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. With the film set to be officially released at 1 p.m., the members got a special treat seeing it earlier than local audiences. This special presentation is all thanks to a partnership between the club, Fandango, and Showboat Stadium 6.

“When we get to take the kids' places and they get to go with their friends, it's just like that childhood experience that everyone wanted,” said Gabe Mallory, Youth Development Professional with the club.

The experience didn’t just include the movie on the big screen or yummy popcorn; it also boasted a red carpet.

Many club members and staff dressed in fancy clothes, including dresses or ties, and everyone had an opportunity to get a picture taken on the red carpet. With the bright lights flashing, it was truly a Hollywood affair.

“It doesn't matter what you're dressed as, but if you dress up how you want to dress, then you do you. The point is you're having fun,” said Mallory.

For Showboat Stadium 6, part of Polson Theatres Inc., this is a great opportunity to give back to the community that always supports them.

“We love to help facilitate these events for the youth of the community and engage a new cinema-going population,” said office manager Candis Harrop.

Flathead Boys and Girls Club CEO Aric Cooksley couldn’t contain a smile and a few chuckles as he explained how great of an opportunity this event was for his club and expressed his gratitude to the local cinema and Fandango.

Even as the lobby began to empty with the projector beginning to play the film, the residual laughter and fun of the whole adventure lingered in the air. Like the scent of Hollywood.
