The Ronan Cooperative Brewery is closing the month with an inaugural Art Walk on Fourth Ave. from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 27. The event features live music by Good Company and works by around 10 area artists.

Food and libations will be available to purchase from Dana Berardinis Winery, Flathead Lake Cheese Company and Hi-Line Deli, as well as the Co-op (which also makes and sells root beer).

Booths are $20, spaces are still available; email ronancoopbrewery@gmail.com for information.

The brewery recently raised $900 for the Ronan Volunteer Fire Department with its Smoke Out Barbecue, held May 2.

“It was a great opportunity for the community to get together around delicious food and meet some of their local first responders,” said head brewer Jim Myers. Good Company supplied music for that event too.

According to Myers, the event reflects the brewery’s mission to encourage community involvement and give back to its hometown. “Additionally, it's the preferred method to get to meet your local fire department as opposed to during an emergency,” he said. “As someone who has been extremely relieved and happy to see the fire department arrive, you really don't get a chance to interact with them while they're putting out your fire ... literally.”

He expressed appreciation to the supporters who attended the benefit, “and most of all to the members of the fire department who drop whatever they're doing to save our lives when situations take unfortunate courses.”
