Lady Bulldogs finish third at Divisionals
The Mission Lady Bulldogs wrapped up their Western B Divisional run with a strong 56-34 victory over Thompson Falls in the consolation final, securing third place in the tournament on Saturday, March 1, in Hamilton.
Mission set the tone early, jumping out to a 25-19 halftime lead before putting together a dominant second half. Brooklyn McClure scored 16 points, while Kieran Incashola added 15 and Cora Matt contributed 12. The Lady Bulldogs clamped down defensively, limiting Thompson Falls to just 15 second-half points.
For the Lady Bluehawks, Gabi Hannum was the lone double-digit scorer with 14 points, followed by Annalise Fairbank with 9.
The game marked major milestones for Mission, as Kason Page surpassed 1,100 career points and Kieran Incashola reached the 600-point mark. Mission finished their season 19-5.
Win over Anaconda moves Mission to consolation final
Mission punched its ticket to the consolation final with a hard-fought 47-40 victory over Anaconda on Saturday, March 1.
After a slow start, the Lady Bulldogs turned the tide with a key third quarter, outscoring Anaconda 19-3 to take control of the game.
Cora Matt led the way with 14 points, while Kieran Incashola added 11. Brooklyn McClure chipped in 7, and Shaedon Kain and Kason Page each scored 6.
Anaconda’s Meela Mitchell put up an impressive 21-point performance, but Mission’s defense held the rest of the Copperheads in check.
The game marked a career milestone for Brooklyn McClure, who crossed the 200-point mark for her varsity career.
Mission bests Darby, falls to Florence
The Lady Bulldogs started the Western B tournament in stellar fashion, overwhelming Darby with a 79-35 win in the first round on Thursday, Feb. 27.
The Lady Bulldogs exploded for 28 points in the second quarter, building a 45-15 halftime lead. They maintained their intensity throughout, with Shaedon Kain leading the way with 17 points. Kieran Incashola (13), Brooklyn McClure (11), and Cora Matt (10) also scored in double figures.
Darby’s Hadley Heiland put up an impressive 23 points, but Mission’s depth and balanced scoring proved too much to handle.
On Friday, however, in a tough quarterfinal matchup, Mission struggled to find offensive consistency and fell to Florence 56-39.
The game was tight early, with both teams tied at nine after the first quarter. However, Florence surged ahead with a 19-point second quarter and never looked back.
Matt led Mission with 14 points, while Kain added 9, Kieran Incashola finished with 6 points, and McClure chipped in 3.
Despite the loss, Madison Incashola reached the 100-point milestone for her varsity career.
