Community Action Partnership closes Polson office
The Polson office of the Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana (CAPNM) closed its doors Friday, March 14. The office was located in the Salish Building at 110 Main Street and has been in Polson for 35 years.
In 2023, CAPNM served 996 clients in Lake County, about 8% of households, via federal programs that include energy assistance, weatherization, subsidized housing and emergency housing.
According to a press release, the decision to close the Polson office “was made as a result of a combination of factors, including an improvement of online self-service application receipts, the cost to maintain and staff an office, as well as a focus on streamlining limited funding.”
Clients across Lake County will now be served by the main office in Kalispell, as are households in Eureka, Hot Springs, Thompson Falls and West Glacier. The press release encourages those who would like to share their concerns about how the office closure impacts their community are encouraged to contact CAPNM to participate in a Lake County Community Needs Assessment Focus Group to be held in May 2025.
Correspondence should be sent to P.O. Box 88, Kalispell, MT 59903, with information about CAPNM’s programs available online at www.capnm.net and on various social media platforms.
