St. Ignatius Seniors: Food assistance help available
With the price of food today, people need additional help.
There are new income guidelines for the TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) for 2025. The federal poverty guideline for a single person is $15,660. For a family of four it is $32,150. For a family of eight it is $54,150.
The Mission Valley Food Pantry in St Ignatius (203 Blaine Street) is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. except, they are open the last Saturday of the month instead of that Friday before. It serves St Ignatius, Dixon and Arlee. Questions? Call 406-745-5484.
Also on the horizon: Bingo, Saturday, April 12; and bake sale, raffle and visit from the Easter bunny, Saturday, April 19.
Main dishes served at the center include: hamburger gravy with mashed potatoes, Friday, March 28; sloppy Joes with fries, Tueday, April 1; Indian tacos, Wednesday, April 2; pulled pork and baked beans, Friday, April 4.
If you would like a take-out meal, please call 406-745-4462 by 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Friday and by 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. Menus for the month are available in the entryway of the center and everyone is welcome (young and old). Come enjoy a delicious meal and good conversation.
