The Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC) baseball team struggled to get its offense going against Hamilton on Tuesday afternoon, falling 8-0.

Hamilton jumped ahead early and used a big seven-run fourth inning to pull away, dropping MAC’s record to 1-8 on the season. Despite solid efforts on the mound, the Bulldogs couldn't generate enough runs to keep pace.

MAC managed just three hits in the contest, with Vinny Sheppard leading the offense by going 2-for-3 at the plate. Jake Helser added a single, finishing 1-for-2, but Hamilton’s pitching kept the rest of the MAC lineup quiet.

Helser started on the mound for MAC, pitching four innings while allowing nine hits and eight runs — seven of them earned — and walking two. Sheppard came on in relief and kept Hamilton off the scoreboard over the final three innings, striking out three and issuing four walks without surrendering a hit.

Errors also proved costly for MAC, as they committed four defensive miscues.
