MAC Softball rebounds from tough loss with weekend sweep
After a difficult midweek loss to Florence-Carlton, the Mission-Arlee-Charlo softball team roared back with a pair of convincing wins over Three Forks and Ennis on Saturday, improving to 13-3 on the season and continuing their red-hot stretch.
On Tuesday, the Bulldogs hosted a talented Florence-Carlton squad and struggled to keep pace in a 14-5 loss. MAC committed nine errors, which allowed the Falcons to extend innings and plate runs throughout the game. Florence-Carlton racked up 17 hits and scored in all but two innings.
Despite the defensive miscues, MAC managed nine hits. GG Hawk belted a home run and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jada Domebo also drove in a run and tallied two hits. Maddy Hanken contributed a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, while Amelia Cronk and Kensey Burke each added a hit.
Domebo pitched all seven innings, striking out three and allowing 14 runs—only five of which were earned—as her defense struggled behind her.
MAC quickly put that loss in the rearview mirror during Saturday’s home doubleheader.
In the opener, the Bulldogs overpowered Three Forks 18-8 in a five-inning slugfest. The offense exploded for 16 hits, including home runs by Hawk, Kieran Incashola, and Maia Christopher. Hawk finished with four RBIs, while Incashola drove in three.
Christopher was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and added two RBIs of her own. Hanken continued her strong play, going 3-for-4. Alecia Steele, Avia Lee, and Cronk each chipped in multiple hits, and Burke added a triple.
Incashola earned the win in the circle, allowing 10 hits and eight runs—seven earned—while striking out three in five innings of work.
The Bulldogs kept rolling in the second game of the day, defeating Ennis 13-3 in another five-inning contest.
Domebo was nearly flawless, going 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs while also pitching the complete game. She gave up just two earned runs on seven hits and struck out three.
Hawk added another multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double. Christopher launched her second home run of the day, and Hanken continued to produce with a 1-for-2 effort and two RBIs. Steele, Lee, Incashola, and Cronk all collected hits as MAC’s lineup again proved deep and relentless.
The Bulldogs used a four-run first inning to take control early, then added four more in the second to put the game out of reach. They tacked on five more runs to enforce the mercy rule.
With the two weekend victories, Mission-Arlee-Charlo has now won seven of its last eight games. The team’s potent offense—highlighted by power hitting from Hawk and Christopher, steady production from Domebo and Hanken, and contributions throughout the lineup—continues to make them a threat in Class B-C softball.
