St. Ignatius athletes turned in standout efforts at the KLH Memorial Track Meet on May 3, with multiple top-10 finishes and a gold medal performance highlighting a strong showing for the Bulldogs.

Leading the way was distance standout Harlon Leishman, who claimed silver in the 3200 meters with a time of 10:18.61 — just four seconds off the winning mark. Leishman’s performance was one of the top distance results of the meet and continues a consistent season for the veteran runner.

On the boys’ side in the field events, Ryan Sharbono was a double top 10 finisher for Mission. Sharbono earned second place in the discus with a personal best toss of 153 feet, 7 inches — a mark that places him among the best throwers in the state’s Class B ranks.

The Bulldogs also had a strong performance in the triple jump, where senior Isaac Umphrey took 10th with a leap of 38 feet, 11 inches. Lex LaFrombois had a top five finish of his own in the long jump, soaring 19 feet, 8.75 inches to place fourth overall in a competitive field.

In the field events, Arlee's Eli O’Neill delivered a standout performance, placing sixth in the shot put with a throw of 41 feet, 6 inches, and also landing in the top ten of the javelin with a toss of 138-3, good for seventh overall.

Dustone Cyrus put together an impressive performance in the horizontal jumps, leaping 19 feet, 3 inches to claim eighth place in the long jump.

In the high jump, Keelan DuPuis was part of a six-way tie for seventh place with a clearance of 5-6.

On the girls’ side, Karma Tibbetts placed 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:50.38.
