St. Ignatius Seniors: Farmers markets opening this month

Farmer’s Markets will be open this month. Take advantage of the fresh fruits, vegetables, and other items they will offer. There is a program for Seniors; Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP); seniors can receive $48 in coupons to go towards the purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables and raw honey sold in Montana at participating Farmer’s Markets. It is for seniors who fall within USDA income poverty level guidelines. For example, a single person with a monthly income of $2413 or less would be eligible. Coupons can be used from June1 through October 31. Applications are available in June. For more information and questions, contact Area VI Council on Aging; 406-883-7284.

Mother's Day bake sale 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Bingo May 10; foot care with Mandy Jo on May 27. The cost is $30. Call the Center (406-745-4462) to schedule.

The Mission Valley Food Pantry in St Ignatius (203 Blaine Street) is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. except, they are open the last Saturday of the month instead of that Friday before. It serves St Ignatius, Dixon and Arlee. Questions? Call 406-745-5484.

Main dishes served at the center include: fish, Friday, May 9; stew and fry bread, Tuesday, May 13; and chicken, Friday, May 16.

Gentle Yoga meets from 1-2:15 p.m. Wednesdays. If you are interested, please call Bonnie Kiser at 406-253-0177. 

If you would like a take-out meal, please call 406-745-4462 by 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Friday and by 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. Menus for the month are available in the entryway of the center, and everyone is welcome (young and old). Come enjoy a delicious meal and good conversation.
