The Polson Lady Pirates softball team faced a packed schedule with six games over five days, emerging with a 4-2 record and improving to 16-5-1 on the season. Along the way, Polson picked up dominant wins over Custer County and Anaconda and earned key victories against Laurel and Florence-Carlton, while battling Columbia Falls and narrowly falling to the Wildkats in a 15-13 thriller.

Polson’s week began with a high-scoring showdown against Columbia Falls on May 6. Despite rallying from early deficits and recording 18 hits, the Pirates fell just short, 15-13. Olivia Jore went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, and Samantha Rensvold added three hits - including a home run. Liz Cunningham tripled while. Emma Smith and Sierra Perez each drove in multiple runs, but Columbia Falls’ six-run fourth inning proved to be the difference.

On May 9, Polson dropped a narrow 9-7 contest to Florence-Carlton. The Pirates managed seven hits including a triple from Liz Cunningham and three RBI. Rensvold pitched all four innings and struck out five, but Florence capitalized on three home runs.

Later that evening, Polson regrouped with a 6-3 win over Laurel. Liz Cunningham provided a big spark with a home run and three RBIs, while Opal Nash and Sierra Perez drove in runs as well.

Polson’s offense came alive on May 10 against Custer County in an 18-0 rout. Rensvold threw a four-inning shutout, striking out nine and allowing just one hit. She also went 4-for-4 with a double, triple and four runs scored. Jore added two home runs and four RBIs. The Lady Pirates plated nine runs in the fourth inning alone to end the game early.

The Pirates kept rolling later that afternoon with a 15-0 win over Anaconda. Jore again starred at the plate with a home run, three hits and six RBI. Cunningham also had a home run and three RBI while Jaja Nichols and Ahri Rushing each drove in two runs.
