Ronan holds off late rally to top Noxon/Thompson Falls
A strong outing on the mound from Liam Jackson and timely hitting helped lift the Ronan Chiefs to a 4-2 victory over the Noxon/Thompson Falls Red Devils on Thursday evening.
The win improved Ronan’s record to 6-9-1 on the season.
Jackson was dominant on the hill, going the distance in a seven-inning complete game effort. He allowed just five hits and two earned runs while striking out 10 and walking only one.
Ronan wasted little time getting on the board, plating two runs in the first inning. The Chiefs added insurance runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Defensively, Ronan was solid, committing no errors and backing up Jackson with timely plays in the infield.
Noxon/Thompson Falls trimmed the deficit with a run in the third and another in the sixth, but Ronan clamped down late to secure the win.
The Chief’s Ben Mitchell and Treysin Sinclair each drove a run for Ronan, while Damien Hess had a double and Sinclair and Liam Jackson knocked triples in the matchup.
