Ronan Maidens pick up two late-season wins

The Ronan Maidens softball team improved to 10-8 on the season after winning two out of three games. Ronan posted back-to-back wins over Dawson County and Anaconda before falling to the Havre Blue Ponies.

In the opener, Ronan rode a strong outing from Kailyn Marengo in the circle and a balanced offensive effort to a 6-1 win over Dawson County. Marengo allowed just three hits and struck out five over five innings to earn the win.

Adrienne Crockett went 2-for-3 with an RBIs to lead the offense, and Nevaeh Perez blasted a home run to drive in three runs. The Maidens jumped ahead 5-1 through two innings and didn’t look back.

The Maidens followed up with a dominant 14-2 win over Anaconda. Ronan scored seven runs and cruised to victory. Adrienne Crockett went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Shelby Taylor and Nevaeh Perez also had strong days at the plate, with Taylor driving in three runs with a double and triple while Perez recorded a triple.

Kailyn Marengo added two hits and two RBIs.

Ronan’s final game of the day saw them fall 13-5 to Havre, who scored in every inning except the fourth. Despite outhitting Havre 13-7, the Maidens were hurt by defensive miscues and couldn’t overcome a seven-run third inning by Havre.

Crockett, Perez and Marengo each recorded RBIs in the loss. Autumn Lozeau doubled and scored, while Ally Luedtke and Kailyn Marengo also doubled. Marengo started in the circle and took the loss, allowing 13 runs (9 earned) on 13 hits over four innings.
