The MAC Bulldogs baseball team endured a tough week on the diamond, suffering back-to-back shutout losses to Florence-Carlton and Frenchtown.

On Tuesday, May 13, the Bulldogs hosted Florence-Carlton and struggled to generate offense or contain the visiting Falcons in a 14-0 loss. Florence-Carlton broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the third inning and followed it with 10 more in the fifth to end the contest early via mercy rule.

The Bulldogs managed just two hits — one each from Dylan Lovejoy and Jake Helser, which was a double — while being shut out over five innings. Florence-Carlton starter Alden Crawford tossed a dominant complete-game performance, giving up two hits, walking one, and striking out 10.

Two days later on Thursday, May 15, the Bulldogs faced another powerhouse in Frenchtown and again fell victim to an offensive explosion in a 17-0 defeat.

Frenchtown scored eight runs in the first and nine in the second, racking up nine hits over three innings. MAC was held to just one hit — a double by Brody Smith — and committed three errors in the field. The Bulldogs fell to 1-12 on the season.
