Polson Seniors: Mourning Harvey Kinitzer
The Polson Senior Community mourns the death of our longtime volunteer Harvey Kinitzer. He was a reliable asset for us in many capacities, including our transportation program.
Trish Campbell approached a member of the Montana Repertory Dance Touring Company to lead the ladies in their regular exercise program at the center. He was a delight! Thanks Trish and the dance company for keeping the performing arts thriving in our community.
Bowling “no-tap” is Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. Join any time.
Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (move it or lose it!); bingo at 6 p.m. Fridays, with playing card bingo on the first Wednesday of each month.
Pinochle is now offered two days a week: 12:15-3 p.m. Mondays or Thursdays; and the pool table is open for play 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
The Spinning Wheelers meet on the first Tuesday of each month (June 3) from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.; call 208-520-1013.
Invite a foursome for Wednesday Play Day to play cards, board games, dominos, mahjong, etc.
A veteran’s service officer visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.
Sit-down meals are available from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays, and delivered to qualified people who call before 10 a.m. A suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program.
Upcoming main dishes include: pork chow mien, Thursday, May 29; Alpine Tepee burger, Friday, May 30; corn chowder, Monday, June 2; lasagna, Tuesday, June 3; baked chicken, Wednesday, June 4; BBQ ribs, Thursday, June 5; and sausage, biscuit, gravy, Friday, June 6.
