Theodore Stoughton Stiles, 88, was born Jan. 6, 1936, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Polson to parents Roy Frank Stiles and Lela Arline Stoughton Stiles. He passed away on April 6 at the Hot Springs Health and Rehab in Hot Springs.

Spring Mack Days nears conclusion with 32,000 fish
With only one weekend left in the 2024 Spring Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, anglers have entered 32,683 lake trout since the contest began March 14. The 2019 spring event holds the record fish count at 40,357.

Albert James Knutson of Polson began his life April 11, 1932, filling his 91-plus years with much adventure, love and hard work. He passed away Jan. 18, 2024, at St. Luke Extended Care in Ronan.

Chapter AI of Polson PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization for women) presented a bouquet of Marguerite daisies and a certificate of achievement to two AI Memorial Scholarship winners during Senior Signing Day, May 20 at Polson High School. Isabel Seeley and Hannah Simpson were each awarded a $1,000 academic scholarship.

McCrea sentenced to 60 years on arson charges
A Ronan man, and son of one of the most experienced and respected wildland firefighters in the country, was sentenced in Polson District Court May 10 to the Montana State Prison for a total of 60 years with 30 years suspended.
