Memorial procession held for Lake County deputy
Law enforcement personnel from across the state join in a memorial procession on April 23 for Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ross Holcomb, who died April 3 at his home in Ronan. Services were held after the procession via live stream from New Life Church in Polson. A burial with military honors will be held at the Bigfork Community Cemetery this summer. Annie Morigeau, 33, of St. Ignatius, was arrested through cooperation between St. Ignatius Police and Lake County Sheriff’s Departments Monday, July 29, on charges of felony forgery and felony theft.

Authorities seek help in connection to March killing
POLSON — The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is enlisting the help of the public in their bid to gather information about a knife that may be connected to the fatal stabbing of 26-year-old John Pierre in March. The man who allegedly committed the stabbing is in custody and awaiting trial, but undersheriff Dan Yonkin indicated that new information may be emerging in the case.

Man charged in extortion case
POLSON — A Polson man pleaded guilty to involvement in an extortion attempt that demanded $10,000 from the victim. Facing charges of theft, 20-year old Canyon Murrin accepted a plea agreement Nov. 2 and will be sentenced for the crime on Dec. 7.
