Fall Mack Days fishing event set to end November 12
2017 Fall Mack Days will end on November 12, after eight weeks of lake trout fishing on Flathead Lake. Up to $150,000 in Cash and Prizes sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes will be awarded on the last day. Six weeks of the event are complete.

As the temperatures are rising so does the 2023 Spring Mack Days lake trout fishing total. Of the 591 registered anglers, 196 have turned in a whooping total of 28,176 lake trout entries with two weeks left in the event.

Sex offender sent to jail for preying on women in AA
POLSON — A sex offender violated his treatment agreement by having sexual relations with several women who he met in an alcoholic treatment program, and was sentenced back to jail for 10 years in Lake County District Court, Thursday, March 22.
Mack Days: Week three count tops 13,000
After three weekends of fishing beneath the snowcapped Mission Mountains on Flathead Lake, our Spring Mack Days angler’s total lake trout count stands at 13,417. Totals of recent years at the three-week mark are: 2023: 11,315 entries; 2022: 9,039 entries; 2021: 11,135 entries; 2020: 12,925 entries; and 2019: 13,622 entries.
Mack Days angler reels in tagged fish worth $1,000
Many anglers participating in Spring Mack Days on Flathead Lake are having great days and big numbers of lake trout entries. An exciting event over the fourth weekend was a $1,000 tagged lake trout that was turned in by Michael Stevenson of Kalispell.

Elections counts took longer due to write-ins
While operations were generally smooth during the federal primary election last week, Elections Administrator Katie Harding said that the counting process took longer than anticipated because of voters submitting write-ins.

Mack Days, Week 3 Summary
The third weekend of 2013 Fall Mack Days fishing ended with a total of 6,777 lake trout entries turned in, which is 2,566 over the same weekends in 2012. Anglers were once again able to enjoy blue skies and calm waters as they fished Flathead Lake. Total for the third weekend-Friday-828, Saturday-1,034, and Sunday-598- was 2,460 lake trout. Mack Days continues until November 17th with fishing on Friday-Sunday until November 8th and then it is 10 continuous days of lake trout fishing. The event concludes on November 17th with the awards and a fish fry at Blue Bay.

Quilting is a popular hobby in the Mission Valley, and some of the best handmade projects have surfaced during the 10th annual Cherry Festival Quilt Show in Polson. The show is sponsored by All In Stitches, the downtown quilt shop.
