Mark Johnston may not have had the best of luck during his attempt to swim the length of Flathead Lake three weeks ago, but last Friday, he guided two of his friends though 15 hours of a grueling swim on the lake.

Andrews has bad luck at World Championships, but great luck in love life
Polson native TJ Andrews didn’t get the results he wanted at the World Championships of flyboarding in Dubai a few weeks ago. But he did get something better. “There’s no prize bigger than what I got out of this trip,” he said on Monday night. Andrews proposed to his girlfriend, Brie Sellwood, and she said yes. “I had to do it right off the bat,” he said, “I was a little anxious.”

Jeanie (Marva Jean) Larson, 87, of St. Ignatius, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 23, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Spokane, Wash. A service will be held at Mission Catholic Church on June 18 at 4 p.m., with a dinner to follow.

Ronan Council adopts hazard mitigation plan, final budget
Mark Clary, head of the Lake County Emergency Management Office, asked the Ronan City Council to pass a resolution to adopt the Montana Western Montana Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2024-2029. They passed it unanimously at their March 12 meeting.
