Fall Mack Days gets going Thursday
The Fall Mack Days fishing tournament on Flathead Lake begins Sept. 15 and ends Nov. 13. This fall’s event will be the 41st Mack Days tournament sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

Anglers have almost hit the half way mark of the 2023 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and sanctioned by Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.

Recent Inter Lake eagle article lacked all of the facts
The Daily Inter Lake published an anti-hunting tirade on its front page recently that was authored by the AP. The sob story mentioned 38 out of 336 bald eagle deaths over a 15 year period in New York were due to lead poisoning blamed on hunters and no other source. A source in Oregon was quoted as having lost two bald eagles so far this year due to lead poisoning. The hit piece goes on to discuss banning lead ammunition.

Ronan Middle School students earn Alaskan trip
Bill Becker’s fourth period class at Ronan Middle School is called Advanced Academic Elective, a new class offered for the 2022-23 school year. The target is 7th and 8th graders, and Becker’s theme for this class is “It’s okay to be smart.”
